Guidelines in the form of protocol will assist stakeholders (educators, students, facilitators) to harness the benefits of online and interactive mode of teaching and learning in an organised manner.

Educators shall be required to

  • Design and develop an appropriate online content, with a focus on creative ability and skill development among students, besides covering the curriculum
  • Prepare content for synchronous/ asynchronous online teaching
  • Prepare short voice-over/video presentations on selected topics specified in the syllabus, with a collaborative effort of subject-specific teams of colleagues to ensure uniformity and validity of the content
  • Develop a learning package encompassing digital presentations with descriptive notes, and selected reading material
  • Familiarise students with e-platform to be used, course structure, topics covered, and the grading policy, at the beginning of academic session
  • Foster active participation of students by maintaining a consistent dialogue
  • Carry out internal assessment through continuous evaluation
  • Participate in training workshops on content development in accordance with the curriculum
  • Prepare, wherever needed, recordings of practicals through demonstration

Students shall be required to

  • Become familiar with the on-line teaching platform, employed by the teacher
  • Attend classes according to the designed schedule of teaching and interaction
  • Participate regularly in interactions, scheduled by the teachers
  • Seek advice from teachers/mentors on resolving academic issues
  • Make small in-house study groups for discussions, and revisions
  • Be honest in attending the complete teaching session
  • Complete assignments and submit them in time, and participate in the online academic activities scheduled by the concerned teacher
  • Not to involve in any inappropriate conduct during the teaching sessions, and any misuse and manipulation of shared e-content on public domains

The University is at the forefront in sustaining the purpose of OneDU by nurturing and supporting the activities through Colleges, Departments and its associated Centres. The facilitators will ensure

  • Registration and generation of IDs for accessing the online platform
  • Integration of appropriate online education platforms, to complement with the requirements of curriculum
  • Preparation of training manuals for platforms and other related activities
  • Efficient 24×7 technical support for an uninterrupted access to the resources
  • Regular enrichment of e-resources in the Libraries
  • Providing e-resources in EPUB format and UNICODE based font
  • Linking Braille library with other libraries
  • Encourage collaborative approach of subject-specific teachers across the university to develop e-content
  • Provisioning of validation tools to impart quality and originality of the designed content
  • Developing a mechanism to seek permission from the Publishers/Authors to use content for educational purpose
  • Encourage on developing an in situ policy at the College level on usage of online content, and the maintenance of students’ records
  • Development of appropriate time tables to foster academic (Teaching & Research), professional and creative pursuits
  • Facilitate training programmes for teachers to enhance online teaching and learning skills
  • Integration of data-bank (video-recordings) of refresher courses with One-DU
  • Organise panel discussions on emerging academic issues and technical developments for students
  • Counselling and mentoring sessions as per the need for faculty and students
  • Setting up a grievance redressal mechanism for students at the College as well as the University level
